"Allez Cuisine"

As some of you may have read I recently attempted to make homemade marshmallows.
If you know me you know that the fact that I tried to make marshmallows is in and of itself pretty dang scary.
What was even scarier was about half way through the process when the transmission on my handy-dandy stand mixer passed from this life and onto where ever worn out and obsolete electric kitchen appliances go when their work in the kitchen has ended.
The old girl was up to the task of cake batters and such but just couldn't hang with something as oohhy-goohy as a marshmallow.
It was a sad moment in life when I saw the Senor place my old friend the mixer on the curb for the garbage men to take away...
however...
I got over it pretty dang quick the moment I set my eyes on...
Her...
Ladies and Gentlemen...
I introduce to you my new, up-to-any-challenge, beautiful, shiny-red friend...
the Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer...

With her the mixing possibilities are endless...
And the available attachments...
the juicer, the ice cream maker, the pasta roller, the grinder...
I could do it all
I could truly become my very-own-kind-of-Betty-Effing-Crocker!
Okay, perhaps I should smack myself with a rolling pin and back to reality!
Reality is this...
my new shiny-red friend looks beautiful on my counter...
and has inspired me beyond belief...
so look out folks...
in the words of the Food Network "chairman"...
"Allez Cuisine!"

My daughter and I made Marshmallows this Christmas. They turned out great. Used a Martha Stewart recipe and couldn't believe how easy it was. I bet they would be great for smores with a little gourmet dark chocolate thrown in. A bad thing to discuss given I've decided to do a juice fast this week. Trying to reset those sugar and salt cravings that got so out of control in December. Congrats on the new addition to your home. I can't wait for my white one to break down so I can splurge. Holly

I love, love, love that jewel. I dream about that beauty, too. But where do I store it when I'm not using it?!! I have no more space. It is like that old George Carlin joke about needing a bigger place to keep all of our "stuff." As ridiculous as it sounds I actually would move for that mixer. OK. That's not totally true. I would move for that mixer AND a fancy coffee maker!

Enjoy!
